{"id":2760,"date":"2024-10-22T08:38:43","date_gmt":"2024-10-22T08:38:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apex-aiexperts.com\/?p=2760"},"modified":"2024-10-22T08:38:43","modified_gmt":"2024-10-22T08:38:43","slug":"the-bitcoin-system-and-its-components","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apex-aiexperts.com\/es\/the-bitcoin-system-and-its-components\/","title":{"rendered":"El sistema Bitcoin y sus componentes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00bfQu\u00e9 es Bitcoin?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While \u201cBitcoin\u201d is usually mentioned as a cryptocurrency, it\u2019s more than that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Bitcoin is actually a&nbsp;<em>system<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like with any system, the Bitcoin system is a&nbsp;<strong>collection of elements or components<\/strong>&nbsp;that work together as a&nbsp;<em>whole<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let\u2019s take a look at the different components of Bitcoin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Bitcoin system is basically just a&nbsp;<strong>bunch of computers that \u201ctalk\u201d to each other over the internet.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To be able to talk to each other,&nbsp;<strong>Bitcoin software<\/strong>&nbsp;is installed on each computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Bitcoin software is&nbsp;<strong>open source<\/strong>&nbsp;which means anybody can look at the source code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Open source means that the software is not owned by anyone or any company. It is free to use and modify. Open source software is code that is designed to be publicly accessible. This means that anyone can see, modify, and distribute the code as they see fit.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This software, known as the&nbsp;<strong>Bitcoin client<\/strong>, was created by Satoshi Nakamoto in late 2008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The original implementation of the software is now known as&nbsp;<strong>Bitcoin Core<\/strong>. Satoshi Nakamoto served as the original maintainer of Bitcoin Core until he disappeared in late 2010,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since then, a bunch of other individuals, called \u201c<strong>Core developers<\/strong>\u201d have taken over and now maintain the software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What does the software do? It runs the&nbsp;<strong>Bitcoin protocol<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A&nbsp;<strong>protocol<\/strong>&nbsp;is a set of rules or procedures that govern a system. So&nbsp;<strong>the Bitcoin protocol is the set of rules that define how the Bitcoin system operates<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example, there\u2019s a rule that specifies a predetermined amount of bitcoins to ever be in circulation. Another example of a rule specifies what determines a transaction to be valid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This protocol, or rules, can be described in writing, but in Bitcoin\u2019s case, are expressed in&nbsp;<strong>computer code<\/strong>. This computer code is then compiled into&nbsp;<strong>software<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Compiled<\/em>&nbsp;just means that the human-readable computer code written by a programmer(s) is translated into computer-executable machine code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anybody can download and install this&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoincore.org\/en\/download\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">software<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because Bitcoin Core\u2019s code is open source, there are now multiple implementations of Bitcoin\u2019s code. But Bitcoin Core remains the most popular, and used as the reference version by other Bitcoin software.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently, this software is installed on thousands of computers spread out&nbsp;<em>across<\/em>&nbsp;the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These computers are called&nbsp;<strong>Bitcoin nodes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the computer (\u201cnode\u201d)&nbsp; is connected to the internet and starts running the software, it becomes part of the&nbsp;<strong>Bitcoin network.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once nodes are connected to the Bitcoin network, they start communicating and sharing information with each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All right, let\u2019s list out components of the Bitcoin system that\u2019s been mentioned:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bitcoin\u00a0<strong>software<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bitcoin\u00a0<strong>protocol<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bitcoin\u00a0<strong>nodos<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bitcoin\u00a0<strong>network<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019re still missing components, but no worries. all will be covered slowly in later lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For now, let\u2019s draw a \u201cmap\u201d of the Bitcoin system of what you\u2019ve learned so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The \u201cmap\u201d looks pretty small right now but just you wait!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As you learn more concepts, we will see it grow!
