{"id":2778,"date":"2024-10-22T08:45:31","date_gmt":"2024-10-22T08:45:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apex-aiexperts.com\/?p=2778"},"modified":"2024-10-22T08:45:31","modified_gmt":"2024-10-22T08:45:31","slug":"what-is-the-bitcoin-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apex-aiexperts.com\/es\/what-is-the-bitcoin-network\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00bfQu\u00e9 es la red Bitcoin?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Bitcoin network is a&nbsp;<strong>peer-to-peer (P2P) network<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the words of the Bitcoin God himself:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cA purely&nbsp;<strong>peer-to-peer<\/strong>&nbsp;version of electronic cash would allow online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a financial institution.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En&nbsp;<strong>Bitcoin network<\/strong>&nbsp;is made up of computers running the&nbsp;<strong>Bitcoin software<\/strong>&nbsp;(also known as a&nbsp;<strong>Bitcoin client<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The software running is what makes the whole thing work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bpcdn.co\/images\/2022\/02\/17193409\/bitcoin-client-on-network.png\" alt=\"Bitcoin client running Bitcoin network\" class=\"wp-image-219334\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Any computer on the Bitcoin network can \u201ctalk\u201d with each other&nbsp;<strong>directly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is different from a client-server network where every computer on the network must first go through a central server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the real world, P2P networks don\u2019t look as pretty and organized as above. Not every computer can connect directly with each other because\u2026.the world is too big.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So let\u2019s keep it real\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bpcdn.co\/images\/2022\/02\/17193555\/bitcoin-client-on-network-realistic.png\" alt=\"Real-World Bitcoin Network Configuration\" class=\"wp-image-219335\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since there is no central server in a P2P network, it is a&nbsp;<strong>descentralizado<\/strong>&nbsp;network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Centralized vs. Decentralized Network<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A decentralized network consists of \u201cpeers\u201d that can run&nbsp;<em>independientemente<\/em>&nbsp;of each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bpcdn.co\/images\/2022\/02\/22125958\/decentralized-vs-centralized-network.png\" alt=\"Centralized vs. Decentralized Network\" class=\"wp-image-219657\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why does this matter?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are two main reasons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. No Central Point of Failure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bpcdn.co\/images\/2022\/02\/17193858\/central-point-of-failure-360x341.png\" alt=\"Central Point of Failure\" class=\"wp-image-219336\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If one computer goes down, the network&nbsp;<strong>continues to run<\/strong>&nbsp;like it never existed. This is different from a centralized network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a centralized network configuration, like the client-server network, if the central server goes down,&nbsp;<strong>el&nbsp;<em>entire<\/em>&nbsp;network goes down with it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This means that the&nbsp;<strong>Bitcoin network can not be shut down<\/strong>. Because there is no \u201cserver\u201d to take down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each computer on the Bitcoin network is&nbsp;<strong>independent<\/strong>. If one fails, the network will still run successfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Decentralized Consensus<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bpcdn.co\/images\/2022\/02\/17193947\/decentralized-consensus.png\" alt=\"Dencentralized Consensus\" class=\"wp-image-219337\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When using electronic money to make a payment, like with a bank transfer from your checking account, your transaction has to go through a trusted \u201cmiddleman\u201d or third party to settle the transaction by deducting funds from one account and adding them to another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If this middleman settles the transaction, then the transaction is considered valid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If I transferred you some money, you and I&nbsp;<em>agree<\/em>&nbsp;the money has actually transferred from my account to yours because&nbsp;<strong>we relied on a trusted intermediary or central authority<\/strong>\u2026..the bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So in this case, \u201cconsensus\u201d on whether the transaction is valid requires&nbsp;<strong>centralization<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bitcoin is different. It uses&nbsp;<strong>decentralized consensus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The idea is that instead of relying on an intermediary, ALL the computers on the Bitcoin network have to come to an agreement by \u201c<strong>consensus<\/strong>\u201d on which transactions are valid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Basically,&nbsp;<strong>the middleman is replaced by a network of computers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>HOW&nbsp;<\/em>all of these computers actually come to a consensus will be explained in a later lesson.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Bitcoin network is a&nbsp;peer-to-peer (P2P) network.
