Here are some common mistakes that new traders often make when using Japanese candlesticks<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. You try to find meaning in EVERY candlestick that appears on the chart.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A lot of the time, markets are \u201cnoisy.\u201d Not every candlestick useful when thinking about future price movements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just because a three-candlestick pattern<\/a> takes four candlesticks to form doesn\u2019t invalidate the pattern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meaning is still the same. It\u2019s more important to understand the price action behind the candlestick pattern<\/strong> than to simply memorize its standard form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. You forget the forest from the trees.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you constantly just focus on shorter time frames like 5-minutes charts without stepping back and trying to look at the \u201cbigger picture\u201d, your trades will tend to get blindsided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Try not to make your focus too narrow.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. You don\u2019t wait for confirmation.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are some candlestick patterns that are considered \u201cself-confirming\u201d, but many are not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make sure to wait until the candlestick closes and is fully formed<\/strong> before acting on a pattern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Always wait for the right confirmation that the price is moving in the direction you\u2019re expecting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
