Sorry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unfortunately, it\u2019s NOT a new kind of Kentucky chicken.&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\ud83d\ude02\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/15.0.3\/svg\/1f602.svg\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">KYC\u3068\u306f\u4f55\u304b\uff1f<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When opening an account, you may notice that the crypto exchange requires you to complete something called a&nbsp;<strong>\u201cKYC\u201d verification&nbsp;process<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Crypto exchanges in the U.S. and many other countries are subject to&nbsp;<strong>anti-money laundering (AML)<\/strong>&nbsp;banking laws and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In order to comply with these regulations, crypto exchanges must gather specific information about their customers.&nbsp; This process is typically known as \u201c<strong>KYC<\/strong>\u201d which stands for\u201d<strong>\u9867\u5ba2\u3092\u77e5\u308b<\/strong>\".&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This means that you will have to provide personal information that confirms your identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bpcdn.co\/images\/2022\/05\/18220003\/kyc-photo-id-1.png\" alt=\"KYC Photo ID\" class=\"wp-image-224096\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In order to prevent funds from being used for fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing, posing as a fake German heiress, and other illegal activity, exchanges have to take things a few steps further than your barista asking for your coffee drink and nickname.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By collecting information about the identity of their customers, a database is created that law enforcement agencies can use in their investigations in the case of some future criminal activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bpcdn.co\/images\/2022\/05\/18220533\/anti-money-laundering-360x360.png\" alt=\"Anti Money Laundering.\" class=\"wp-image-224098\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cKnow Your Customer\u201d(KYC)&nbsp; isn\u2019t unique to crypto and applies to almost ALL financial institutions that hold customer funds.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example, you actually go through a KYC process even when opening a bank account, or applying for a credit card, car loan, or mortgage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u304c\u3042\u308b\u3002&nbsp;<strong>different levels of KYC<\/strong>&nbsp;ranging from zero KYC to super thorough KYC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although some crypto exchanges may still allow users to deposit funds without going through KYC, they are becoming a dying breed as it becomes a global standard. Nowadays,&nbsp;<strong>most major crypto exchanges require KYC as soon as a new user opens an account<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How does KYC work?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you sign up for an account on an exchange, you will have to provide your basic information such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your full name<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your date of birth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your address<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u30e1\u30fc\u30eb\u30a2\u30c9\u30ec\u30b9<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your phone number<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This information is needed to ensure that the exchange meets requirements under&nbsp;<strong>Anti-Money Laundering (AML)<\/strong>&nbsp;regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The purpose of AML regulations is to prevent people from<strong>&nbsp;hiding the origin, flow, and destination<\/strong>&nbsp;of electronic money transfers so that law enforcement agencies can&nbsp;<strong>track the flow of illicit funds.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can\u2019t hide if you have to reveal your identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Depending on the trading platform or the local laws, the exchange can also ask for additional information such as:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your source of income<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your social security number<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A government-issued photo ID such as a driver\u2019s license or passport<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of address such as a copy of your utility bill<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A photo of yourself (selfie)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A facial biometric scan (video selfie)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bpcdn.co\/images\/2022\/05\/18215552\/kyc-selfie-360x360.png\" alt=\"KYC Selfie\" class=\"wp-image-224092\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the initial sign-up process is usually automated, financial institutions have client services teams (actual human beings) tasked with double-checking that the information provided is accurate. You might even get a call from them, too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To find out a crypto exchange\u2019s specific KYC requirements and how long you can expect the verification process to take, look for the customer support section on their website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lastly, it\u2019s also common for exchanges to have more KYC requirements for<strong>&nbsp;larger account sizes or big transactions<\/strong>.
